1 System Requirements

Minimum requirements:

1. Processor: Intel Pentium III 600 MHz processor or equivalent
2. RAM: 256 MB or higher
3. Operating System: Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000 or Windows NT.x (SP6a)

2 Software Prerequisites

2.1 Java

Axos FormMapper uses XEP client-side rendering engine from RenderX to preview a print template. XEP requires a Java VM 1.2 or higher to run properly. Sun JRE version 1.3 or later is highly recommended.

How do I know if I have Java installed and which version?

1. Click "start"
2. Click "Run..."
3. Type "cmd" and hit "Enter" on your keyboard
4. In the Command window, type "java -version" and hit “Enter” on your keyboard
   
   The Java version is displayed if Java is present.
5. Type “exit” and hit “Enter” on your keyboard to close the Command window.

The J2SE tiJava Runme Environment (JRE) can be downloaded from Sun:

2.2 .NET Framework 2.0

The core of Axos FormMapper is written in C#, which requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 must be installed on your computer.

How do I know if I have .NET Framework 2.0 is installed, and which version?

1. Go to Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs
Scroll through your list of programs. "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" will be listed if it is installed.

Get the .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package

2.3 Adobe Acrobat Reader

Axos FormMapper uses Adobe Acrobat (either the Reader, or the full version of Adobe Acrobat) to preview your print templates. Version 5 or higher is required. You can download the current version of Acrobat Reader directly from Adobe

3 Installation

*Before you install, make sure you meet all the hardware and software requirements. Admin privileges are recommended to install Axos FormMapper.

1. Download FormMapper11.zip from the provided location
2. Extract FormMapper11.zip into a newly created directory
3. Start FormMapper.msi or setup.exe
4. Follow the instructions on the screen

4 Starting Axos FormMapper

Start Axos FormMapper either through the program menu under "Axos FormMapper" or the “Axos FormMapper” shortcut on the desktop.

Note about starting FormMapper for the first time
When you run FormMapper for the first time, you will be asked to select a measurement system.

5 Uninstall / Repair of FormMapper

5.1 Uninstall

If you want to keep your projects, then first copy the Projects directory to a different location before you run the Uninstall script.

1. Go to Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs
2. Scroll through your list of programs and select "Axos FormMapper Trial 1.2" and click "Remove".
3. You might have to delete some files manually in the "\Program Files\Axos\FormMapper Trial" directory after you run the Uninstall script.

5.2 Repair

Note that the Repair script might overwrite the provided sample files. If you made changes to the sample files, copy them to a different location before you run this script, and then copy the saved files back into the Projects directory after the script is finished.

1. Go to Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs
Scroll through your list of programs and select "Axos FormMapper Trial 1.2" and click "Change". Then select Repair.
